Reasons
As cities in the whole world are becoming crowded and the car industry is each time bigger, traffic accidents are increasing, causing real damage to people, social problems and incalculable economic losses.
There are lots of facts that contribute to these losses, and the most relevant is the lack of good signaling.
Many are the countries in the world that are trying to solve this modern problem, but in most of them it is not solved at all but is increasing gradually.
The main objective of this invention is to increase the margin of security to diminish the fatal traffic accidents and its numerous consequences.
Descriptionn
The Electronic, Visual, Numeric and Audible traffic light offers three simultaneous signals of traffic regulation.
- Visual Signal: the three current and conventional colors.
- Numeric Signal: It constantly offers information to pedestrians and drivers about the available time to cross safely the street, or well, to wait patiently for the next free traffic signal in order to cross.
- Audible Signal: A voice, recorded in digital format, announces to pedestrians "Cross", "Don't cross" or "Wait" depending on the signalled light.
Operation
At the beginning of each cycle, the screen shows the corresponding color, like the conventional traffic lights. Simultaneously, the number ten will appear overprinted on it.
While the colour is on, a countdown is working on the overprinted numeration, going by 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1. Lasting each number a tenth of the total time.This time is adjusted automatically in each cycle.
When the color and the numeration appear, a loud voice will be heard, ordering to pedestrians to respect the visual sign present on the traffic light.
Another sign of attention, directed mainly to pedestrians and drivers far from the traffic light, appears when the number 2 appears on the screen and the sign begins to blink, pre-announcing each cycle ending. (in one of eight different modes of operation)
These detailed sequences work when each colour cycle is switched on.

Radio, infrared or power line communication for intersection synchronization without need of external control wiring. Only one power line is required.

Pressing the button in the back of the optic unit, five different operation modes are selected
When the button is pressed an upward count from 1 to 5 is shown, loosing it, the mode is programmed.
